Skipton Market Parking Restrictions. Be Aware PDF Print E-mail

Due to adverse weather conditions there's been gaps in the market recently, but the traders would like all of you to know that council parking restrictions still apply, as we're keen to avoid you suffering unnecessary fines especially given that we believe the signing of these restrictions is not clear enough.

The current policy of the council/police is to ticket anyone who parks within the following restrictions, even if there is a gap in the stalls.

Current Parking Restrictions on the Market Setts:

No Parking is allowed on the Market Setts from

6am - 6.45pm on Mon, Wed, Fri,  or Sat.

This is a long standing problem for all of us, traders and customers alike.  Sadly the Council's signing of the parking restrictions on market days is woefully inadequate and I'm sure it must come as quite a shock for some of our valued visitors to find their day has taken a financial turn for the worse on returning to their car. It's not in anyone's interest for this to happen so we'd like to take this opportunity to direct you to the most convenient car parking in town by clicking on the Parking link in the main menu.

On Tues and Thurs only 2 hours parking is allowed between 8am - 6pm

This is my next bit of research so please be patient if the link is currently empty or not comprehensive enough

Every month we will feature a stall or stalls on Skipton Market. This month it's the turn of the 2 flower stalls run by Russel and Jean and Cath, Vince and Laura

Bedding season is almost on us so don't forget to get your plants here, when the frosts disappear and spring is in the air.

Russel and Jean outside Rackhams or the Red Lion

Cath Vince and Laura outside Stead and Simpsons
