Skipton is an attractive market town serving a large rural area. It is situated in the Aire gap separating the Craven limestone Dales to the north, the gritstone moors to the south, and the pastoral Ribble valley to the west. Just outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park boundary, Skipton prides itself on being 'The Gateway to the Dales' . With its  busy tourist, shopping and commercial centre, its colourful market 4 days a week and a wide variety of accommodation, pubs and eating places, Skipton provides the perfect base for exploring this beautiful and unique area.

Well placed with major roads from all sides and direct train links to Leeds and Bradford, Skipton is easy to get to. As well as hosting one of the most complete medievel castles in the uk, it sits astride one of the most scenic parts of the Leed to Liverpool canal. Within easy reach are the major attractions of Bolton Abbey and Embsay Steam Railway offering more than enough to provide the perfect day trip. For those with more time, Skipton is the perfect place to pick up the awe inspiring Settle to Carlisle train, with its stunning highlight over the ribblehead viaduct. Only 5 minutes from the National Park this ancient and historic market town is a walkers' paradise.
